Designed to develop a naturally nonstick layer, this pan only gets better with age. Before first use, wash off the protective glaze with hot, soapy water and a sponge. Dry it thoroughly before using. After washing, this pre-seasoned pan is ready to use. Lightly coat the top of the pan with oil or butter before heating for better release. Use hot running water and a sponge or scrub brush to clean. Dry immediately. Rub with a little oil before storing to enhance the nonstick patina layer. For burnt-on messes, scrub the pan with salt and paper towels. Never soak this pan or put it in the dishwasher.
